Momiji Shabu Shabu - Collagen Hotpot Buffet

Say hello to Singapore's First and Only Collagen Hotpot Buffet at Momiji! :)

{Media Tasting}

The newly established Momiji Shabu Shabu has opened its doors, promising Singaporeans a wonderful gourmet experience. The restaurant is home to Singapore’s first-ever collagen hotpot buffet. Complementing the collagen soup are over 100 items including delicatessens such as Kurobuta pork, half-shell scallops, deep red sea prawns, Asari clams and more. A splendid indulgence at an affordable price!

The divine soup base is made of collagen pudding, which is the culmination of six hours of simmering kampong chicken. Such long hours of simmering ensures that the chicken bones are fully dissolved such that every bit of goodness goes into the broth. Fresh vegetables are also added to lend even more nutrition and flavours. The broth is then cooled, solidifying into a silky smooth pudding that brims with collagen.

Customers can choose to enhance the broth with Himalayan Pink Salt, a natural and pure mineral substance gathered from the Himalayas. What's more is the hands-on experience as patrons will get to grind the salt themselves :)

If you are feeling adventurous, you can also add hot kimchi paste! Collagen shoyu is available too, anything that suits your palate :)

We waited for this to boil while we walked around to get foooood!

Cute illustrated instructions demonstrating ways to indulge Momiji Shabu Shabu. I was especially intrigued by the last section, "Make your own porridge"! Too bad I was too full to try this out, will remember to save some stomach space next time ;)

Different types of noodles!

What's shabu shabu without meat :)

Pork collar, Pork Belly, Beef

I followed this and it was SO GOOD

Actually anything with a runny egg is good hehe

I like how they indicate the Cooking time so you can get a rough gauge of how long to cook these food items for :)

Onsen Tamago!!!! :D

12 different dipping sauces to choose from!

I tried their Signature dipping sauce by mixing Ponzu (2 scoops), Minced radish (1/2 scoop) and Minced garlic (1/2 scoop) and it was pretty strong, to enhance the meat (which wasn't very deeply marinated) I suppose :)

DESSERTS AND FRUITS <3 They had ice cream too!

Warm Asian desserts such as black sesame paste and red beans soup were available that night too.

Desserts were quite a let-down actually, nothing to wow about.

Large variety of fresh vegetables :)

Pleasantly surprised to see things like black beancurd, pumpkin (!!) and kampung chicken! :)

Their cooked items were average :/

One of their signature items - fresh handmade bamboo meat pastes!

Do note to use a little red spoon provided to scoop out chunks of meat into the hot broth :)

Helpful waiter refilling our collagen soup broth!

#gulps

The carnivorous and hungry boy dunking thick layers of meat at once hahahaha

Mm soft boiled eggs <3

For every two pax dining in, customers will get a complimentary premium item of either wagyu beef or snow crab!

After 3 seconds....

Done!

This is definitely a fantastic place for gatherings, where you can sit back and relax with your family/friends over a long leisurely meal :)

Despite its rather inaccessible location, Momiji Shabu Shabu is still worth a visit because of it's huge array of food items - over 100 items to be enjoyed at affordable prices - including premium items such as Kurobuta pork and Asari clams. :-)

Had a really enjoyable evening, thank you Jaslyn for the invite! :")
